At Mr Furze's sale, held on Thursday. July 7th, there was a large attendance of buyers from all parts of Waikato. The horses were of a first-class stamp, young and in Rood condition and commanded keen competition, and all sold from £12 to £21 10s, averaging £17; unbroken colts from £7 to £14 ss; waggon, £20 : mowing machine, £17 ; D.F. ploughs, from £!) 10s to £13; S.F. plough, £4 15s ; dray, £5 7s (id ; plough harness, from £1 to £1 17s Cd per single s°t. On Friday not many horses were yarded. Useful stock ranged from £10 to £14 each. On Tuesday hides sold better. Stout ox brought from 4j[d to 4Jd, medium H.\d to -Id, light ox and cow, li]d to 3d ; calfskins, 4: ( 'd tos.Jd the lb ; tallow, KisUd to 10s the cwt, rough fat 3J:d the lb. Sheepskins also obtained an advance ill price. Butchers' skins ranged from 3s to -Is !)d ; station skins Is lid to us 2d each. At tho mouthly Wainku sale held on Saturday last a smaller muster than usual met the buyers. Thoso yarded were principally young stock, and for them there was brisk competition, prices for calves ranging from 25s to 30s ; dairy cows, £3 10s to £5 10s each. At Romnera on Thursday dairy cows at profit were m usual supply, but prices were lower, and many backward springers unsold. Prices for those near calving ranged from C 4 to £7. Store cattle at late values. Calves in lunnl number maintained !n«t week's values. Fifty-three sold. Fat cattle in average supply ; 242 sold were better worth than last week. Prices for steers ranged from 20s to 22s the 1001b. Sheep yarded in full numbers. Several hundred stores in low condition were withdrawn; 840 fat sheep sold ; last week's values mstuined. Wether ranged from 12s (id to ISs Od ; ewos, 9s to 13s ; hoggets, Ss (id to 12s each. Pigs, in limited numbrrs, were at late values.

MK.SSHS HONTKR AND Noi.AN's WEEKLY Report.—Horse feed, • grain, seeds, etc., average quantities have been brought forward which met steady demand. We quote : Maize, 2s per bushel; oats, 2s 2d ; bran, £5 per ton ; oaten chaff, £2 10s to £2 los per ton. Horses of a good stamp have no', been brought forward in sufficient numbers for requirements, and consequently some inferior ones have changed hands which otherwise would not have done so. Fully the previous week's values ruled. The number entered for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards was up to the average ■and competition was good throughout the sale. We quote : Light harness and medium draught from £5 10s to £13 10s ; heavy draught, £!) to £21 !ss; ordinary hacks, £4 to £0 15s ; weeds, 25s to £2 10s. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, bones, etc., average quantities were pitched. We quote: Stout ox hides, 4d to 4Jd per lb; medium, 3d to 3Jd ; steer and cow, ljd to 2jpj ; kips, to 3d ; calf-skins, 3d to 4jd per. Tallow, 17s Gd to 10s per cwt. Bones, £4 10s to £o per ton. Sheepshins, Is 8d to 3s 10:1 each ; pelts, 7d *o Is 4d each ; fleece wool, lid to 0': l ,d per lb. Cattle: Activity has characterised the market, and there has been a marked upward tendency in the value of fat beasts. Dairies barely maintained the previous week's value. Stores were without alteration. The Newmarket Yards were moderately filled on Tuesday. Dairy cows were not well represented, £(i 15,s being the highest price obtained. Beef ranged from ISs to 22s per 1001b ; very few stores were yarded, but there were a good muster at Papakura on Tuesday, and the previous values wore fully maintained. Sune averages of fat steers were: £7 10s 31 (i.nenen of which reached £0 10s), £7 2s lid. £7 2s rid, £G 17s Gd ; a draft of 30 well fal'ted steers from Mr James Given, of Pollock settlement, averaged £7 (is Od; fat cows reached £7. Some averages were £4 18s Gd, £4 18s, £4 lis 3d, £4 3s 7d. Sheep : Tlif pens at Newmarket were fairly tilled on Tuesday and bidding was brisk throughout tho salt; at from Is 7d to 2s per 81b ; wethers sold at from 13s to 17s Gd; ewes, Ss Gil to lis 3d. Pigs: Short of requirements, worth 2\d to 3d per lb live weight. A well-bred Berkshire sow realised £2 7s.
