A POETICAL CURIOSITY.
Tub following lines are susceptible of two meanings. A bachelor friend reads the first and third and second and fourth lilies together, and seems to find an internal satisfaction in readinp them thus—the wretch ! The man must lead a happy life Wliu is directed by his wife ; Who's freed from matrimonial chains Is sum tn suffer for his pains. Adam of old could find no place Until he saw a woman's face; When Eve was given for a mate, Aciam was in a happy state, In all the females' hearts appoar Truth, darling, of a heart sincere; Hvnocvisy, deceit and pride, Never known in women to reside. What tonguo is at;le to unfold The worth in women we behold ? The falsehood that in women dwell Is almost iinperjf.ptiblH. Fooled be t.he foolish man, I say, Who will not yield to woman's sway ; Who changes from his singleness Is sure of perfect blessedness. —Sunday Time s .
