PUKEKURA ROAD BOARD.
A meeting of the above Board was held in the r/ukcrin.u School on Monday last. Present: Mr Hnnry Buttle (Chairman), Messrs J. Anderson, Thornton Wnlker, and It. W. Mears. —A letter was read from Mr A. J. Francis, of Canterbury saying that ho had leased his property in Ngaroto parish, to Mr G, A. Kusabs, of Ohaupo, and asking that his name wight bo taken from the rite roll, as all rates were to be paid by Mr Kusabs.—The secretary was requested to make the necessary alteration. —A letter was recoived from Mr W. O. Garland, asking for permission to take five or six loads of gravel from one of the ■ Board's pits.—A suggestion was made that a- small charae of (id per load should be madj to private parties wanting gravel, but it was decided that settlers should be allowed to take what they required for gravelling their, gateways nea,r road's; the above request was granted on usual conditions.—A circular was received from the Land and Income Tax Commissioner rerequesting the Board to furnish-hira with the amount of rate made for the yeir 1S!)1-1892, also the amount actually collected exclusive of arrears up to 30th June, A circular wa-i received from the Minister of Agriculture re bird nuisance. After consideration it was resolved that no action bo takeu for*the present.—Mr Buttle reported that I'nkowsky's drain had been seen to, Mr Anderson reported that Giles and Vickers had finished their contract in ICingsley-street. Mr Buttle reported that the culvert on the Ohaupo Station road had been repaired. Mr Mears said ho had authorised repairs to a culvert on Gubbin's road. His action was approved.—Mr Anderson suggested that a portion of. the Putney road, hirar Mr Caley's, should -be levelled as at present the ruts were very deep.—He was authorised to get the same done.—For the work authorised at last meeting, to grub and form a part of Spenceretreet, the following tenders were received, viz., Giles and Vickers, grubbing, ploughing, etc., 10s per chain ; W. Harris, 8s 6d per chain ; W. Bowman, 9s per chain. The tender of W. Harris was accepted,—The balance in the Bank on 30th-Ju.no was £23S 5s lOd. The treasurer whs authorised to draw a.cheque tor £150 and re-lodge the same on fixed deposit for six months. — Accounts amounting to £8 Is 3d were passed for payment and this concluded thebusiuess of the meeting.
