Wednesday.—(Before Captain Jackson, R.M.) Aobin and Co. v. W. F. Dixon.—Judgment for amount claimed and costs. R. B. Bkown v. W. F. Dixon.—Judgment for amount claimed and costs. Mrs Gage v. Roha.—This was an information for assault by Roha. wife of Rewi Maniapoto, on Mrs Gage, by striking her on the forehead with a piece of firewood on the 24th May last. Mr Gresham appeared for plaintiff, and Mr Cruickshank for defendant, who pleaded guilty. The plaintiff, Mr Maiuwaring, Constable Lowther, and another native eave evidence, showing the serious nature of the blow. The defendant also gave evidence, but His Worship said the assault was a very severo one, and fined defendant £5 10a (id and costs £4 9s 6d. The tine was immediately paid.
