The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs A. Buokland and Sons' Report.—At the Haymarket during the past week hand-bound fodder has sold bettor, bringing from 2s 6d to 3s 3d per cwt; chaff, ,£3; carrots, 30 s ; potatoes, £2 15s per ton ; maize on wharf, Is lOd ; in store, 2s ; oatSj Is lid to 2s Id per bushel. On Friday horses yarded plentifully, kopt thoir values. Useful draft ranged from £9 to £15; hacks and light harness, £3 to £8 ; a strong roadster, £18; single-seated buggy, £15 ; set cart harness, £4; buggy harness, 455. On Tuesday hides pitched in full number kept their values. Stout ox brought up to 4Jd; medium, 4Jd ; cows, lid to 2jd ; oalf skins, 4d to s£d per lb; tallow, 17s 6d to 19s; bones, 5s per cwt; sheep skins, le 8d to 4s 2d each. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cows near calving, yarded in full numbers, were required and late values sustained. Prices ranged from £510s to £8 7s 6d each. The few store cattle yarded sold freely. Fat calves in usual number; 57 sold fully kept late values. Fat cattle in moderate supply; 183 sold were belter worth. Steers were steady at 19s the lOOlbs. Sheep plentiful ; 1400 sold. Store sheep were better worth; fat sheep lower in price than last week, about Is each. Hoggetts ranged from 5s to 12s Cd; wethers, 9s to 17a 6d; awes, 8s 3d to 17s each. Pigs in usual number ; 115 sold were uniformly better worth ; porkers brought from 18s to 345; young pigs, 5s to 10s each. Messrs Hunter and Nolan's Report.— Grain, seeds, horse-feed, &c. : The supply has been good and demand steady, and above an average amount of business has been done. We quote : —Oats, 2s to 2s 3d per bushel; maize, Is lOd, on wharf; 2s to 2s 2d, ex store ; oaten chaff, £2 10a to £2 15s per ton ; bran, £4 to £4 10a per ton ; rye-grass, 4s to 5s per bushel; cocksfoot, 6a to 6s (id per bushel. Horses : The number brought forward has been up to the average, but scarcely so in stamp, and inferior animals were hard to place, but there was no noteworthy alteration in value. At the Darham Yards on Friday bidding was good throughout the sale, and a slightly increased number were disposed of.—We quote -.—Hacks, at from £4 to £10 17s 6d; light harness, £5 to £11 ss; medium draught, from £8 to £12 10s; heavy draught, £15. Wool, hides, skinß, bones, tallow, etc. : Rather a large catalegue was submitted at the Durham Yards on Friday; the whole were well competed for. We quote :—Store ox hides, 4Jd to 5d per lb; medium to stout, 3d to 3Jd ; steer and bow, 2d to 2Jd ; calf-skins, 4id to 5d per lb ; sheepskins, 2s 6d to 4s each; wool, fleeces, 6d to 6Jd per lb ; bones, £4 15s to £5 per ton ; tallow, 18s 6d per cwt. Cattle : An.average number of dairy and fat Btock were brought forward, but fat beasts were barely sufficient for requirements, and there was an upward tendency in value. Barely the u3ual number of stores were yarded at Wiwmarket on Tuesday, but an increased number of fat beasts and dairy c»ws met ready sale, top sorts of the former reaching 20s per 1001b, while dairies ranged from £5 to £8 2s fid. Some averages of fat steers were : £9 2s 6d, £7 9s. £7 2s 2d, £6 9s 6d ; cows, £4155, £4 12s 9d, £4 ss, £3 15s 6d, £3 7s Cd. Sheep ; The Newmarket yards were fairly filled on Tuesday, and competition was keen throughout. Wethers ranged from 133 Gd to 19s Gd each ; ewes, 10s to 153 6:1 ; lambs, 7* 0d to Us 6d ; mutton ranged from Is 6d to Is 9d per 81b. Pigs were scarce, and the price of good porkers was manifestly in favour of the vendor, reaching 3Jd per lb dead weight. AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKETS. (by telegraph—own correspondent). Auckland, Last Night.—ln the local produce market, the prices remain unchanged. Beat dairy butter is la 3d, second quality Is,! and third quality lOd per lb wholesale. Eggs are Is 3d per dozon wholesale, and Is 6d per dozen retail. Maize, Is lOd to la lid ; oats, 2s Id to 23 2d ; potatoes, £2 10s to £2 15s; bacon, 5Jd to Gd.
