Tho supply on hand is considerably in excess of local requirements ; and, in the absence of an export demand, the snles effected are limited. Local requirements are drawn from the primest samples, so that nil medium sorts are almost neglected. The market could hardly be less active than at the present moment. Wo quote for the small parcels disposed of as follows : -Pr.me milling wheat and Tusea • 3s Od to 3s Od ; ?ood to best, 3s 3d to 3s 5d.-Onts : Owing perhaps to the small quantity coming forward and the low prices lately ruling, both shippers and local consumers have been operating during the past week with a great deal more spirit, clearing off a large number of lines that were for sale, with the result that during the last few days prices have further hardened for prime lines of feed and milling, to the extent of nearly Id per bushel, which at the moment, looks more encouraging. It is quits possible, however, that prices may not go much higher ; but wh should ho snmowhat surprised if they did not continue lirm at rates now ruling.
