The appointment of a medical officer for the "Waikato District Hospital will come on for discussion and settlement at the meeting of the Waikato District Hospital and Charitable Aid Board to-mor-row. Iu dealing with the question, a good mony considerations have to be taken into account. We believe however, the Board would be serving the best interests of the institution, and through it the general public by re-appointing Dr. Kenny to the position. Dr. Kenny has certainly an advantage over other applicants, in that he is an old and tried servant, aud he can point to his five years' service in support of his claim, which is not likely to be over-looked by the Board when dealing with the subject. The high state of efficiency and the popularity of tho Waikato Hospital is due iu a great measure to the interest Dr. Kenny has taken in the institution, aud tho satisfactory annual reports under the hand of the Inspector of Hospitals, Dr. Macgregor, which have appeared from time to time, must have been highly gratifying to tho members of tho Board.
