Supplies in seine lines have barely met requirements. Potatoes have been very scarce, and those to hand have found quick sale. Largo supplies are now duo hv steamer from Taranaki, Napier.and Cant, rbm-y. Waikato's realised £2 10s to £2 15s ; Napier, £2 10s to £2 15s ; Canterbury and Taranaki, £2 15s to £3 ; cow potatoes have been in demand at 30s to 40s ; cannts, 20s to 30s ; pumpkins, 20s to 40s per ton ; mangolds, Is to Is Id ; new potatoes, l;,'d the lb, Onions have been a complete drug and quality bad, and sales have been forced at £2 to £3, and Gd to Is per bag. Bran, i' 4 Ills ; sharps, £5. Maize : None offering at present, values are la lOd wholesale and 2s to 2s 2d retail. Fowl wheat, good whole, 3s to 3s3d: broken, 2s fid to 2s 9d. Oats, short feed, 2s 2d to 2s 4d ; local, light kinds, Is (id to 2-1. Butter, fresh has been in bettor supply real prime, lOd to Is ; other kinds, 9d to 9id ; keg butter, really prime, 9d to lOd ; other kinds, 7d to &Jd ; lard, 4d to 4£d, Honey, section, 3s Gd to 4s : tinned, 3d. Eggs have been in fair supply, new laid, la 6d to Is 8d ; pickled, 8d to is Id. Cheese very scarce, prime dairy, 4d to 4Jd. Bacon and hams, moderate supply of new local, prime, s;ld to Gd ; hams, 5d to 7d ; Canterbury, in cloth, 5d to GJd; local, poor, 2d to sd. Fruit: There has been a good supply of apples, and values have risen considerably. Stone Pippin, 2d to ; Ohinemuri, l|d to 2gd ; Norfolk Beefing and other showy dessert, 2<jd to 3d ; other kinds, lsd to 2£d ; pears, cooking, ljd to 2d ; dessert, 2J;d to 3id ; lemons, 7d to 10d ; tomatoes, ripe, l|d to ; green, ; Capo gooseberries, fid; walnuts, 8d to BAd. Poultry, penned in large numbers, prices were about the same as last week, first class tablefowls, Is Gd to 2s 2d ; ordinary, Is 3d to Is 5d ; poor and old, lOd to la ; roosters in condition, Is 8d to 2s 2d ; others, Is 3d to Is Gd ; ducks, Is 3d to 2s Id ; tnrkoys, gobblers, 5s to 7s : hens, 3s to 4s 3d; geeso, 2s to 2s lOd. Pigs, penned in good numbers, demand slack, best lots, fe 6d to 10s ; fair, 5s to 6s; inferior, 2s to 4s. Messrs Wham and ahtihjk report supplies in produce fully up to demand, with the exception of three lines—cheese, salt butter, and local bacon. Potatoes remain firm at £2 5s to £2 15s, at which prices all good lots were cleared. Fowl wheat is slow of sale at last week's prices. Maize has hardened slightly, and sells freely at 2s to 2s 2d. Good local oats are worth Is BJd to Is lOd ; only small lot entered. Inferior ditto, Is 3d to Is Gd. Salt butter is very scarce, and sells on arrival at from to 9'id per lb. Cheese : Supply is far short of demand, and a much larger quantity could have been sold at from 4|d to 4Jd. Fresh butter remains at last week's quotations. Local bacon is rather scarce. The following prices were realised at auction yesterday :—Waikato Dotatoes, £2 5s to £2 15s ; Southern, £2 3s to £2 kidneys, £2 15s. Onions, 3s 6d to 4s Gd : kumeras, 7s to 8s ; pumpkins, £115s to £210s ; pie and citron melons, 20s to £110s; mangolds, 20s to 25s ; maize, 2s to 2s 2d ; oats, good local.
