FOOTBALL.
• There is every prospect of a beautiful day for the county football match, to be played on Sydney Square, Hamilton, this afternoon, and with fine weather the game should prove the most interesting that has ever been witnessed in Waikato for some years. On paper, the teaine appear to be evenly matched, although the general feeling is slightly in favour of the Waikato team. This match is likely to grow into one of the most important winter fixtures in Waikato, and wo hope the public—the Hamilton public especially—will endeavour to popularise it. We would ask them to give the players the full ground by not encroaching inside the boundary lines. If everybody will do thi3, they will be able to see the game just as well as if they crowd over the touch and goal lines, interfering with the players. More especially would we ask them to keep well back from the goal lines, as very often a score is lost through crowding in this part of the ground. The teams have already been published, and the captains will be chosen on the ground. The Waikato team will play in maroon, and the Waipa in navy blue. This evening a meeting of delegates from the Waikato clubs will bo held in The Waikato Times Buildings. The business to be brought forward is the fixing of dates for tho matches between the \mHous clubs and the establishment of a Rugby Ijnion for Waikato.
