FOUND DROWNED.
(BY TELKGItAFH.— OWN COKUESI'OXDKNT). Auckland, Last Night. Thk (lend body of a man was found underneath the Devonport wharf. The body is that of an elderly ir.au about 05 years of age. It had evidently been only a short time in the water from its appearance. The man is about sft. Gin. in height, clean shaved with the exception of some scanty grey whiskers around the neck, his head is covered with prey hair except at the top which is b >ld. The fa-e presented a ghastly appearance, being partly eaten and covered with blood whore the small lish had been committing depredations. The body was fully clothed in grey tweed trousers and pilot coat, with a striped Crimean shirt, flannel drawers and elastic side boots. In the possession of deceased was a bank book with the name James Keilty, fireman, Hamilton, two knives, a pipe, and a handkerchief. There was also found a race ticket which showed that deceased had probably been at the Tukapuna races yesterday. The Coroner's inquest will be held to-morrow.
