(BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN COURESrONDHST.) Auckland. Last Night. Thk stables on Mr J. B. Whyte'a property at Greenlane have been destroyed by lire. It is not known how the fire originated. A little boy, W. R.|H, Brown, who was accidentally burned at his parents residence at Hobson-street on Monday last died to-day. The mother states that she left the little fellow sitting by the fire while she went up for the baby. Hearing screams, she ran down and found his nightdress all ablaze. She extinquished the flames, but the child was horribly burned from the neck tu the thighs. The Bay of Islands County Council are calling tenders for the collection of the Dog-tax, which they intend to enforce.
