Board of Reviewers.—The Board of Reviewers under the Land and Income Assessment Act, consisting of Messrs T.B. Hill, T. Mitchell and A. Langley, meet at the Court House, Raglan, on June 6th, for the purpose of hearing objections to valuations under the said Act. Shipping.—The Northern Shipping Co.'s s.s. Glenelg which has been running here for seme considerable time past has been removed from this coast, and is now on the Auckland side. She has been replaced by the s.s. Argyle, which arrived here on Sunday last from Kawhia and other ports, She left Kawhia on Saturday afternoon, about 4 p.m., and experienced very rough weather on her trip to this place, especially so whilst crossing the bar at Kawhia, a boat which was on board belonging to Mr Langley being stove in. She had on board for this port Mr and Mrs Langley, who are leaving Kawhia to reside in Raglan After discharging her cargo on Sunday morning she proceeded northward for Onehunga, and again experienced rather a rough sea whilst crossing the Raglan bar. On Wednesday morning she again arrived here from Onehr.nga with a general cargo for this place, and left again after discharging her cargo, for southern ports. The Northern Company are evidently dosirous of doing all they can by the way they are running their boat to facilitate the delivery of goods, etc. Land Sbttlesiknt.— During the last few weeks there has been an increased enquiry after laud suitable for settlement througHout the district, and several sections have been disposed of, whilst others are likely soon to change hands. One gentleman, who had previously been in the Waikato, had been strongly advised not to come over to Raglan, but taking no heed, he arrived here, and after spending nearly a fortnight here was not only anxious to procure lots fur himself, but also other sections for friends that he represented, and expressed himself as highly pleased with the district. A large block of -1300 acres just thrown open noar Te Msta, and on the other side of the Kauroa valley is already finding selectors, Mr Langley having taken up 1000 acres of the block, and other purchases are likely soon to be made. It is said to be good laud of limestone formation, though somewhat broken. There is still inquiry for sections upon Chamberlain's block, just outside Raglan, and in a short time the whole of it will bo taken up. The Weather.—Thus far in May, we have had open weather with but little or no frost. On Friday night a very heavy S.E. gale was blowing, and all Saturday and Sunday the sea was very rjugh, In consequence of the favourable weather, without much frost and continued showers, grass and clover are looking well throughout the district, especially the clover, which is now well in leaf.
