THE LATE MR JOHN BYCROFT.

OUR Whatawhata correspondent writes: — Much surprise and regret is expressed throughout the Waipa at the sudden death of Mr John Bycroft, of Te Kowhai. Although not directly conuected with this district, his farm being nearer to Ngaruawahia, Mr Bycroft was a frequent visitor, often holding religious services in the schoolroom ; his last visit being only a short time ago. The deceased gentleman was generally regarded as a sterling settler and a thoroughly good man. His early death will be felt as a loss, not only to his family, but to the whole district.
