« Everything in connection with the above show continues to prosper. The Mayor of tho town has dechrcd a half-holiday within the bnnmgh on Friday naxb, in response to a petition signed by the business paopl>>, as will be seen on reference tn our advertising columns; K Lake, Ksq., M.H.8.. has consented t> perform the opening ceremony, which will tike place at 2 p.m. on Friday; and we understand the Public Hall will be decorated in an artistic manner. A circular has been issued asking the members of the society (particularly the ladies) to meet at the hall on Thursday afternoon to assist in decor.iting the building ; and the wives of the committee men have undertaken to supply the workers with afternoon taa. On each show day, afternoon tea will also bo dispensed by ladies, but this will not ba Rratis, for ft small charge will be made, and the proceeds will be-to uso a stereotyped phrase—" for the Rood of the cause." In addition to the local exhibits, there will be a large number of blooms from Auckland-RMwers, and although the season is rather far advanced, there will, nevertheless, be a goodly at ray of nrst-class bloom* of this queen of autumn Rowers. Given fine weather, the show will be an uudonbted success.
