CAMBRIDGE ROAD BOARD.
The above Board met at the Criterion Hotel, Cambridge, on Saturday. Present: Messrs J Forrest (chairmau), H. J. Paton, and M. H. Pickering. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Repairs.—The chairman and Mr Pickering both reported that various repairs, that had been entrusted to them at the February meeting had been duly executed. Works.—Mr Chapman Ewen wrote asking the Board to execute the promised repairs to the road near his house. The Chairman said there were several works that had been promised that should bo done before fresh ones were undertaken, but as this was the last meeting of the present Board, it would be better to leave the mitter in the hands of the new Board about to be elected. This was agreed to. Finance.—At date the Board had a credit balance at the bank of £103 13s 10d. There are also due rates amounting to £18 12s Id, and Government subsidy £54 Us lid. Against this the Board's liabilities are £108 0s 9d. The clerk said the Government had not yet paid a subsidy for the past year in Waikato. It might well have a surplus if it did not intend paying subsidies. He was instructed to apply for the subsidy due. Accounts.—The following accounts were passed for payment: F. G. Pearse, £4 ; H. Ftizgerald, £5 7s 2d ; the clerk, £5. This closed the business.
