Mr Ai.kx. aitken's Market Report, for tho week ending April ',).— A brisk business has been done during the week at satisfactory values. The auction sales have been largely attended with spirited competition, and large quantities of general produce liavo been quitted. Potatoes: Stocks have been largely increased by consignments from Waikato, Napier, and Gisbornc, also a few lines of Oamarns and Canterbury to hand : a good quantity has been put through ; good samples, £2 10s to £3, sacks in ; poor and inferior parcels, 25a to 30s per ton. Onions : Stocks hava been reduced to a very small quantity : prime parcels sold freely at 3s lid to 5s (id ; |io»r lots, 2< Gd to 8s; pieklers, Jd to Id. Pumpkins, 2* to 3a 2d ; kumerao, 7s to Bs. Maize has lieen more plentiful, and alarm quantity quitted at2i ; wheat, 3* Bd, milling lots4s ; oats, Is !)J to 2s Id ; chaff, Is to Is 3d per sack ; bran and sharps, £1 ; barley, 2s 3d to 2s 9(1. Vegetables in abundant supply at fair prices.
