Calves were lower in price 3s to 5s each, but grown cattle kept their values. Dairy cows at their profit ranged from £4 to £0 each. At the private sale held at Mr Macdmald's there was a numerous attended good prices. The cows ranged from £4 to £7. Horses, £7 to £13 each. Waggon, £26 ; drill, £13 ; dray, £1110> ; donble furrow, £10. Oaten straw, 15s the ton. At Remuera, on Thursday, duiry cattle in full numbers were required. Prices for cows, at their profit, ranged from £5 to £7 ; heifers, £3 5s to £1. Grown store cattle in good request, but yonng cattlo comparatively dull of sale. Three-year-old steers averaged £3 12s Gd ; calves brought from 14s to 20s. Fat calves, in less than average numbers, were at late values, l*at cattle in full number—27s sold—were dull of sale, occasioned by many being of second-class quality only ; but last week's quotation, 18s the 1001b, was fully sustained. Sheep in usual nmnbei —1285 sold. Stores and inferior fattod were somewhat lower, but best sheep kept their prices. Fat wethers brought from 13s to 17s 31 ; store wethers, Rs to lis; fat ewes, 9s to 12s !M ; store ewes, 3s 0d to 5s eaeh ; lambs, from 7s to 12s each. Few pigs yarded ; those were without alteration in price. Messrs Hu.ntkr and Noi.an's Report.— Horsefeed, seeds, grain, etc. ; The quantities brought forward have been ample for requirements, although the demand has been active. We quote: Oats, Is lOd to 2s 3d per bushel; maize. Is 9d to Is lOd per bushel; bran, £4 per ton ; chaff, £2 10s to £2 15s; rye grass, 4s to (is (id per bushel ; cocksfoct, (is Od to 7s. Horses: An increased number were brought forward and found ready sale, particularly those of a good stamp in all classes. The competition was good at the Durham yards on Friday, and rather more than the usual number passed under the hammer. We quote: Hacks and light harness horses, £4 10s to £10 15s; heavy draught £9 10s to £2110 j . The jumping mare Hopeful Kate sold for 90 guineas. Wool, hides, skins, tallow, and bones: Again avorage quantities were pitched, and met steady demand. We quote ; Stout ox hidos, 3Jd to 4M ; steer and cow, lfd to ; kip, 2VI to2jd ; stag, l.jd ; bones, £4 10s to £4 15s per ton ; tallow, 14s 6d to 18s Od per cwt; sheepskin 3, Is 4d to Is lOd each; lambskins, Is to Is lid each. Wool: Longwool, 5Jd to OJd ; lambswool, fijd to (i.}d ; bags, 4fd to ; pieces, lid to 3d per lb. Cattle . Stores have been brought forward in less than usual numbers, many lots being held for the special auction sales on Tuesday next. Dairy and fat boasts in average numbers fully maintained the previous week's value". There was a good muster in the Newmarket yards on Tuesday. Bidding was spirited throughout the Bale, and for fat beasts, top sorts, fully 21s per 1001b was given ; plain, from 10s to 19s. Some averages of steers were £8 10s 4d, £S ss, £7 8s Sd, £0 9s, £0 8s 9d, £5 17s Gd, £5 2s Od; cows, £0, £5, £4 17s Gd, £4 15s, £4. Sheep: An average number were penned at Newmarket on Tuesday, and prices had an upward tendency for wellfatted ewes and wethers, of which fat sold at from 12s 3d to 10s 9d ; ewes, lis 9d to lls 3d ; store ewes, Gs 9d to 9s Od ; mixed sexes, fat, 12s to 13s Od each. Pigs: Only small ones yarded, and sold at from 2Jd to 3d per lb.
