HUNTLY.
I'norosEU Road Board.— A very imtiual *■ disposition to manage their own local affairs, and also to have more than one voice in the expenditure of rates on roads, bridges, &c., is manifesting itself aiming tho ratepayers in this large riding of the Waikato County. The settlers in the northern part of the county have already made a move in the matter, and are going to hold another meeting to-morrow (Saturday) night, to still further talk things over. An informal meeting of a few of the principal ratepayers in the Hnntly district was held hero this week to discuss the question of forming a Road Board in this part of the riding, and to arrange the preliminaries of a public meeting of the ratepayers, at which it is hoped to obtain a decided expression of their feelings in the matter as to tho boundaries of the proposed road board district. Tho general opinion prerailing is that the whole of the riding would constitute too large a district to be worked by a single road board.
