Js 'Jd to 2s ; ryegrass, 3s to 4s : cocksfoot, 4s 9d to (h per bushel ; bonedust, £7 10s pel' ton. On Friday horse stock in modeiate number kept late values; all young, sound animals wem freely competed for. A well-bred riding horse brought £1G 10s ; buegy horse, £15 10-s ; medium draught, £9 to £1G each. On Tuesday hides in short supply were at late values. Light to medium weights were from to 4d ; calfskins, 4d to 5Jd per lb. Skins also in loss number than usual; lambskins brought from Is to Is 8d ; pelts, 51 to 2s Ikl ouch. Wool in greater supply than of li.te 315 bales besides dumps and bags being sold, cross-bred wool brought (J.'id ; lambs wool, (id to H'/'l tho lb. At the private sales held respectively on Saturday at Mr McUechie.'s, and Monday at Mr Howard's there were good attendances, and satisfactory prices resulted. At the country cuttle sales held nt Polceno on Monday, and Drnry on Wednesday, cattle were yarded in full numbers, showing a great increase ill the number of calvec reared, and for which there is a steady demand. Cows at profit are also bringing good values. At Remuera on Wednesday dairy and store cattle were without alteration in values. Fat calves in usual number kept the late prices. lat cattle in average number 242 sold Were slightly belter worth than last week. Steers were from 18s to 20s the IOOIbs. Shefip in liinitetd number scarcely kept last week's values ; store merino ewes were at 4s 3d ; fat merino ewes, (is ; crossbred wethers, 10s to 13s each ; lambs in moderate number wefo required and brought from 9a to 12s each ; a moderate supply of porkers of excellent quality, ranged from 18s to 27s each. Messrs Hunter and Nolan s Report.— Horse feed, seed, grain, etc. : The supply has been ample for requirements, and a steady demand has existed. We quote: Oats, Is 1(M to 2s 3d per bushel; maize, Is 8d to Is 9d; oaten chuff, £2 10s to £2 12s 6d per ton ; bran, £4; cocksfoot, Gs Gd to 7s per bushel; ryegrass, Canterbury 4s Gd to ss. Poverty Bay Gs Gd to 7s per bushel ; white clover, Is to Is Id; red clover, 3d per lb. Horses: There lias not been any alteration in tho market worthy of note. About the usual number have changed hands at the previous week's values. Prices for those of a really good stamp are in favour of the vendor. At the Durham Yards there was quite an average number entered ■for disposal by auction, and most of those found purchasers. We quote: Hacks, at from £4 15 sto £20; light-harness horses, £ 1 10s to £9 10s; medium and heavy draught, £5 10s to £14 10s. Wool, hides, skins, etc. : Tho supply was rather limited ; the demand was steady, and lots cleared. We quota: Ox hides, 2id to l.Vd per lb ; cow and steer, Id to 2jd ; calf skins, 3d t'> 4£d per lb ; tallow, 1(« to 18s Gd per cwt; sheepskin pelts, 8d to Is Sd ; lambskin. Is (id to Is 9d each ; lotigwool in bales, Gd to 6sd ; longwool in bags, Gd to G|il; locks and pieces, ljd to 4d. Cattle: A good many of ill descriptions have been brought forward, and met with ready sale at quite the previous week's values. There was a good muster of store and fat stock on Tuesday at Newmarket, but dairy cows were short of requirements, selling at from £3 15s to £G 12s Gd : calves, 18s to 2(is; yearlings, 25s to £1 lis; 18-month-old_ steers, £2 10s to £3 5s ; grown steers, £4 5s to £4 15s. Ox beef ranged from 18s to 21s per 1001b; cow,jl7s to Ills. Some averages of steers were : £8 2s 3d, £7 12s Gd, £7 Os Gd, £G 10s, £o 17s Gd, £5 12s 6d ; cows, £7 ss, £5 ss, £5, £4 12s fid, £4 7s Cd. Sheep were penned in over average numbers, and wove well competed for; wethers from lis to 15s 9d'; ewes, 8s to lis 9d ; lambs, 5s to lis 9d each. Pigs sold readily at from 2d to 2VI per lb, live weight. AUCKLAND PRODUCE MARKETS. (by telegraph.—own correspondent.) Auckland, Last Night.—ln the local produce market the prices are as follows Best dairy butter is 9d, second quality 7d, and third quality Cd per lb wholesale. Eggs are Is 3d per dozen wholesale, and Is Gd per dozen retail. Wheat, 4s to 4s 3d. Potatoes, £3, with a downward tendency.
