The bulk of the Waikato consignment ware not quite ripe, and will not keep. Small lots of new local oats have been cleared at Is 9d to Is 10d. Vegetables were in heavy supply, and cleared at fair rates. Dairy produce : Fresh butter, supply well maintained, prices without alteration. Kbr butter found buyers at auction, and a considerably quantity was quitted. Cheese, sipplies of which continue of medium quality, moves off on arrival. Ekks were very scarce, and buyer-* unsatisfied. Hams and bacon : A line of the former brought Gd, quality off ; the demand is entirely confined to Southern factory cure. Honey rather dull of Bale. Fruit: Supplies continue very satisfactory, and we think prices all round are better; the quantity of inferior apples was considerably reduced,giving good quality a better chance of improved prices. The demand for grapes, peaches, and plums was excellent. Poultry: Improved supplies Friday, the demand was (food, and bidding brisk. Supplies all round continue heavy, and fully up to requirements, excepting keg butter, which continues in demand beyond supply. A few small lines to hand found immediate sale at Sd to for prime parcels, and CJd to 7d for good pastry lots; rank parcels down to 5d ; fresh has been in good supply and demand; extra prime up to 10d ; good, Sd to B\d ; pastry, Zd to 7i<l. A consignment of half u, ton'orprime" factory butter from Tarnnaki in parchment-lined boxes to hnnd in fair condition, realised Sd. As the shipping season is about over, considerable quantities of Taranaki butter might bo expected to be placed on this market. Eggs have been in demand beyond supply, at Is Id to Is 4'd per dozen. Honey continues rather scarce, with a-fair enquiry for local consumption ; values are 3d to for small tins, and 2Jd to 3d for large tins, sections 3d to 3.Jd. Cheese : Supply and demand continue about equal, and most consignments are being quitted privately at 3Jd to •Id for prime whole cream ; down 5o 2Ad for second and third class samples. Makers are wisely holding back for winter sale, when prices are likely to rule satisfactory. Bacon: A large quantity of the Southern cures appear to be off thij season, consequently auction salee are regularly supplied with doubtful parcels of various brands, for which from 2d to 3d is the ruling rate for both bacon and h:ims, according to condition. Guaranteed lots, 7d for bacon, and BJI for hams ; local, none offering. Potatoes continue to come in freely, and values lira unaltered, although the demand must be considered satisfactory; samples generally very poor. Specially goof! samples, £3 10s to £3 15s ; ordinary good liiiffs, £2 10-! to £3 ; poor, 20s to 40s. Onions continue plentiful, demand has not boen fio brisk this week, although prospects are better for the next fortnight; id to jri has been th« ruling r.itq ; garlic, totally unRjilfiablo ; vegetables aru sold at good value : HKiize, moderate supply from the coast, and a fair quantity sold in retail lots at Is 10d to 2.s ; oats, a quantity on hand, short feed celling slowly at 2s: fruit, both local and Island, has been put through in quantity at satisfactory prices. On Tuesday 750 binches bananas ex s.e. Wainui realised fr.itn 2s 3d to 4s, or an average of 3s 4d per bunch, while damaged bunches realised from Is to 2s each. Peanuts: Stock has been cleared it V t d to 2d per lb. Oocoanats: A large stock is held, and the demand is almost nil at present. Local fruit continues to steadily improve in value, and Tuesday's supply commanded keener competition than usual.
