NEW ZEALAND RIFLE MEETING.
The weather at Trentham on Saturday was not favourable to good shooting, the wind being high and puffy. As will be seen from the positions for the championships mentioned below, many of the "old stagers " are coming to the front, showing already that tho more experienced men can hang on. The shooting, however, has so fur not been so good as at Hawke'.s Biy last year, but then at the latter place tlin weather was goo'd throughout. Two out of nine matches counting for the Belt- havn concluded, and the following are the highest positions: — Taylor, Auckland 123 Purnell, Warganui 119 Parslow, Auckland 119 Doughty, Auckland 119 Humphries, Napier 119 F.
