SIR,—In your issue of March 3rd your Alexandra correspondent nifties certain statements with regard to the hridgn connecting Alexandra East and West, which are wholly misleading, and I may say untrue. In tha tirst place, the contract prico was only £29 15s, and not £40, as stated by your correspondent. In the socond place, one would infer from his letter that the council or engineer favoured one of the councillors sons. Now, Sir, tho contract w«s let by public tender, and my price being the lowest bv several pounds wai, of ccurße accepted. I?y inserting the abovo you will greatly oblige.— Yours, &c., W. J.
