DEFINITIONS WANTED.

TO THE EDITOR. <3 lß> —Will " Junius Hiljernicus " kindly tell ua in what edition of Burns the stanza of " Man was made to mourn," as quoted bv him, is to be found ? And, as he has intimated his intention of taking up the cudgels in defiance of the faith that is in him, will he, in order that we may understand each other, define the followiug terms :— 1. "God," "Christ," "Holy Ghost," stating the nature and attributes of each. 2. " Soul," " spirit," " heaven," stating where the latter is and what it is. 3. " Devil," " purgatory," and " hell," stating what these places (if they are places) are and where they are. 4. " Inspiration." 5. " Christianity," citing a few of its " unerring truths " ; and, finally, will he tall us if he believes the Bible to be a Divinely inspired work ; and, if so, whether every statement it contains is to be accepted as actual and absolute truth ; if not, what part or parts are to be rejected, and why ? The foregoing request is made in all earnestness, Mr Editor, so that in the event of this controversy being continued, these important questions may be dealt with on their merits.—Yours faithfully, Agnostic,
