Tiie people of Poland arc much alarmed at the demands made by General Gourko, Governor-Genoml, who desires a free hand in order to strike terror among the malcontents. The Czar has grunted him increased powers. London, March 6. The St. Petersburg correspondent of the Daily Telegraph wiros that in consequence of the ferment arising out of increased powers granted by the Czar to General Gourko, the latter has been authorised to proclaim a state of siege in Warsaw, and martial law throughout Poland.
