WAITOA ROAD BOARD.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board took place in the Board's office last Saturday. Present: Messrs W. P. Chepinell (in the char). W. Main, R. Parr, and J. Turnbull.—A letter was received from Messrs Burnett Bros., reporting that the outlets and side drains of three swamp crossings, on the r.wd between the Waitoa Station and the Waitoa River require deepening two fnet. The cost they estimate at about £12, and they offer to contribute on their own behalf and that of the Lansdowne Estate half of the cost up to £12.— The Board accepted the offer, and will Ret the work done.—A letter was received from Mr J. Cornea, with reference to connecting GratUn's road with the main road.—The engineer will inspect and report on this at the next meeting nt the Board.—A letter was received from Messrs Ross, Burbridgeand Gabolinskey.re deepening outfall drain at Waihou.—The engineer will inspect and report at the next maeting.—A letter was received from Mr R. B. Willis, re widening and deepening an outfall drain, at a cost of about £18, and offering to contribute one-third of the cost.— This mafter will receive attention at the npxt meeting of the Board.—ll was decided to erect a bridge and put in two set? of pipes on the road between R. Starks and the railway line, and to repair a ciitting on the road leading to the Richmond Downs property from the main road.—lt was decided to got the Taenepi Creek cleared out, so as to afford a fall to take the water from Bell's bridge.—lt was also decided to get the Piakoiti creek cleared out, both below the bridge on the main road and also for a considerable distance higher up the creek. This work will benefit the road leading to the mount and the properties adjoining, as woll as take the water from the Piakoiti bridge.—The following accounts were passed for payment: —A. Bremner, £5 3s Id; T. Taylor, £1 10s: J. Orr, £39; C. Willis, £1 7s; F. Pavitt, £3 15i ; P. Bell, £19 13* lOd.
