ENGLISH COAL MINERS.

(by electric telegraph.—oopvbiohi). London, February 29. The press is alarmed at the impending steppage of work at the collieries. The price of coal has risen 3s per ton, and there is an excited demaud. March 1. The coal owners approve of the proposed restriction of the output, hoping to benefit by the increased prices. The Northumberland miners have agreed to a reduction of 5 per cent. There is a panic in the coal trade in London, and prices are advancing rapidly. . . The Durham miners have pined the movement for the restriction of the output of coal. Many owners of large works ars giving their employees notice as they fear the supply of coal will be short ot requirements.
