(by electric telegraph—copyright). Sydney, February 12. A persistent rumour is afloat in Newcastle to the effect that a coal trust with a capital of two and a-half millions is being formed. It is said to include all the leading collieries with the exception of Lambdon. Melbourne, February 12. There is a growing agitation against the appointment of Mr Munro as AgentGeneral. The Associated Banks have taken £2,000,000 worth of Treasury Bills at four and a-half per ceut. at par. Adelaide, February 12. The harvest returns show a total of 7,373,000 bushels as against 9,391,000 bushels for the previous harvest. The surplus available for export is estimated at 4,000,000 bushels. The poorness of the yield is due to the small rainfall, severe frosts and prevalence of the red I rust pest.
