SPURGEON'S FUNERAL.
(BV TELEGRAPH. —I'KEtfS ASSOCIATION.) London, February 11. A tremendous procession followed Mr Spurgeon's remaius to the grave to-day. There were over 500 carriages containing mourners. The shops along the route were closed and many were draped with bla:k; and the bells were muffled. The Bishop of Rochester pronounced the benediction. The funeral servico was of a most impressive character. Many cheques for charitable purI poses were sent in lieu of wreaths. Dr. Pierson, who delivered the funeral address, described Mr Spurgeon as the greatest divine England had seen for a hundred years. Rev. J. Munro Gibson, D.D., Moderator of tho English Presbyterian Synod, Rev. E. Herbert Evans, D.D., chairman of the Congregational Union of England, and Rev. Thomas B. Stevenson, President of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference took part in the service in memory of the late Rev, Spurgeon.
