The Board of Health has issued a circular to medical gentlemen in the city, invitin» them to collect information as to the oiuse and best means of preventing the spread of influenza. To-day is being observed in New South Wales and Victoria as a general holiday, it being the foundation day of the colonies. There was glorious weather for the holiday. The regatta was largely attended. The long-standing dispute at Goulbourn Cathedral between the Bishop and Captain Rossi, over the rcno\al of the latter's family tablet, lias been re-opened and settled amicably. Brisuane, January 26. Business in Townsville is at a standstill. The flood water scooped out a chasm into which St Joseph's Church fell bodily. No fatalities are recorded. Launcestox, January 20.
