In the churches yesterday, special prayers were offered for the abatment of influenza. Sir Edwin Arnold, who has been suffering from influenza and pneumonia, is recovering. The deaths of the Hon. Algernon Tollemache, formerly ot Wellington, New Zealand, and Mr Benjamin .Scott F.E.C.S., Chamberlain of London, are announced. Both suffered from influenza. January 19. The Times' columns to-day contains 157 notices of death, 24 of which resulted from influenzu. Baron Alcoster is suffering from influenza, and is in a critical condition. VIE"XA, January 18.
