At .1 mooting of the Commercial Bunk the chairman defended that institution from the implication of having boon concerned in tho conspiracy to ruin tho Bank of Vim Dieinon's Land. Kg said that if tho hank could have boon saved they would have done so, but an inspection of tho accounts prior to tho suspension disclosed a, revelation that had never in their .vildest dreams been anticipated, and there was no course but to advise closing the institution. The statement has caused j, sensation as it places a totally different aspect to that set forth by the management of the Bank of VauDieinon.
