AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SHOWS.
A PROPOSED CONFERENCE. (11V TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION) Wellington, Last Night. In order to prevent inconvenience aiising from the fact that must of the annual agiiculturul and pastoral shows are held within a very short space of time, and many of them within a few days of each other, the Wellington Association has decided to ask kindred associations to join iu an imping a conference, at which a programme will be diawn up for a series of shows to be held next season, so that the clashing of dates may be avoided. The secretary of the Canterbury Metropolitan Show is to be asked to take the matter in hand.
At the next meeting of the Association this motion will be tabled: "That with a view to increase- and improve- the stud stock in the colony, it is desirable that the Railway Commissioners should allow special facilities fir the cmveynnco of stud female animals on the line for the purpose of mating, and also that ,1 deputation wait upon the Commissioners to ask for tho concession."
