WAIKATO FARMERS' CLUB.

The Cambridge members of the above Club met on Monday. The harvest work prevented many from attending, but the following were present : Messrs Jno. Fisher (chairman), E. Allen, G. Watt, J. Taylor, R. Fisher, T. A. Hicks, S. Seddon, C. Bull, J. T. Hicks, J. Fisher, junr., J. S. Bond, H. J. Turner, and Major Wilson. The minutes of the previous meeting were road and confirmed. The ordinary business of the previous meeting, which had been adjourned as a mark of respect to the lute Mrs K. Reynolds, was then taken. The Ahuicultukal Show.—The Chairman made a formal report of the steps taken at the Ohaupo meeting to hold a Waikato Agricultural Show at Claudelands next spring. This matter has, however, been duly noticed in our columns. FuuiT ExvouT.—The manager of the Loan and Mercantile Company forwarded a circular—No. o—stating that many of the most experienced applo growers preferred the American case, which is 20 inches over all, instead of 20 inches inside measurement. One hundred of these cases measure four and a-half tons, as against five tons of the larger ones. The company strongly recommend the alteration, and will be glad to hear the opinions of their customers. The price will be the same, but nails will be given in. We recommend the f-.nit growers of Waikato to peruse this No. G circular, which will be printed m a future issue. Foot-rot in Shkki'.— Major Wilson then read a paper on this subject, which will appear in the supplement.—The Chairman moved a hearty vote of thanks to Major Wilson for his ablo paper. He trusted and believed it would help to solve what had proved a difficult problem to many of the Waikato farmers who had only lately embarked in sheep-breeding.—Seconded by Mr Seddon and carried unanimously.—lt was also unanimously resolved t.) adjourn the discussion till next meeting, when all the members would have had an opportunity of perusing the paper in the columns of The Waikato Timks. The Hoimcci/iuRAi, Show.—Mr T. Wells introduced the subject of the Horticultural Show to be held on March 17th, and asked that a committee be appointed to assist in carrying out the arrangements. The following gentlemen kindly volunteered : Messrs R. and J. Fisher, S. Seddon, E. Allen, and J. Taylor. The meeting then closed.
