GARDENS V. SPORT.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib,—l noticed lately a small paragraph in your paper about Mr Castleton's garden, I think this is a step in the right direction, too much prmninencn is given to folly, such as football and cricket and not the least mention made in praise of cricketers or footballers' wives', sisters or mothers who are chopping firewood or carrying water to keep the kettle boiling. There are several steady industrous mens' gardens about Hamilton, that, it would pay your reporter to visit and may be interest your readers. Besides the exercise may be of benefit to your reporter, let him start at the old mens refuge where I notice some excellent vegetables, as these men are the oldest give them the place of honour.—l am, etc. COLLINGWOOU.
