The Premier considers that the Associated Colliers did not need lo reduce tho price of coal, and their object was not so much to increase the export trade sis to drive nonassociated miners out of the field. Flo thinks the miners would 1)2 justified in offering resistance if tho reduction affected their wages. Tho Central Executive of tho Labour Electoral League! has called upon the Labour members elected by the Leugue to reunite and carry on!, the platform of tho League!. A conference between tho Executive and members will shortly be held. The Coalininers' Delegate Board has decided to take a ballot of all miners on the question of the present dis2)ute. Tho decision will not be known till next week. The Lambton mines unanimously passed a, resolution, whicli was sent to tho other branches, giving fourteen days' notice of their intention to increase the ore sent hewing rate by 4d from Ist February. The Delegate Board has approved of the action of tho West Wtillsend minors in resisting the reduetion, and has granted the men strike pay.
