RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT, CAMBRIDGE.

Yksterday— (Before Capt. Jackson, R.M.) Thk first business was the administering of the oaths of office and allegiance to His Worship the Mayor, Mr James Webber, after which he took his seat on the Bench, at the request of the Resident Magistrate. There were several undefended civil cases and a child named Louisa Lilly Putts was legally adopted by Wra. and Isabella Aleyard. Charles Honry Prince was brought up for neglecting to provide for the maintenance of his child, who is in the Kohiinararaa Industrial School. The case was adjourned tiil February sth to enable him to pay the arrears, which amount to £3 10s to December 30th. This was all the business.
