Rates RnjirrrKD —One half of MrHill's rates were remitted her, on the motion of Cr. Finch. Short Road.—A pettion was received from 20 residents in the Te Rore, Paterangi and Altxmdra districts asking th.it the r >ad from Te Rore to Ta Awainutu, bo taken through Grant's farm, and Maneupiko River, alongside Mr Hall's and through NichoH'o farms, and on to Paterangi road thereby making it ahout four miles shorter, and conferring a gr>-al convenience on the setllers interested. It was eventually left in the engineer's and Cr. Smith's hands to report. Allkns' Road.—The only contract received for the work on this road was fr uii Mr T. Jones at the following pr.ces:— Grading, S(i per cubic y»rd ; gravelling, etc., lis per chain ; and pipes Us per set. The prices were considered too high and fresh tenders are to be called fur the work. Work to bh Donk.—The engineer iv.-s authorised to set some work donn on Bosanko's road. Cr. Teasdale and the engineer were instructed to see how much the adjoining property owner* interest d would con'rlhute towards the repairs at Cox's culvert, Te Awainutu. Some sillfacing arid gravelling was ordered »o bdone on the hill at the enss roads, Te A'TOinutu. I
