A meeting of the Hamilton Swi'flming Club will be held to-morrow evening, when it is hoped there will bo a good attendance. Festival evensong will be sung at S. Stephen's Church, Tamahere, on the evening of Christmas Day, at 7.30 p.m., and will be followed by a selection of carols. "We have to remind horse-owners that acceptances for the Whatawhata Handicap ;jud Hurdles, also the general entries, will close to-moirow, the 23rd, with the secretary at \Yhatawhata, or Mr G. H. Carter, Hamilton. One of the rowdies*- scenes that has taken place iq the streets of Hamilton for many years occurred on Saturday night last, .during the meeting of tho Salvation Army.
