NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NEW ZEALAND.

A WKi.i, attended meeting of persons interested in the formation of a branch ot the above association took place at Ohaupo on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Lang was elected to the chair, and introduced the president of the association, Mr Bittrer. Mr Bateer addressed the meeting at considerable length, upon the same lines as repjrted in the Waiknto Farmers' Club meeting. Messrs Hull, McDonald, and Bell also addressed the meeting, at the close of which several questions were snlUtact'irily answered. On Mr liuttle's motion being seconded by Mr Legertwond, it win resolved to form a branch of the association at Ohaupo and several namef, were handed in as members. A vote of thanks t> the delegates and to the chair concluded the moeting.

The delegates addressed a meeting in Thk Waikato Timks Buildines yo»terd-iy afternoon, there being nresent : Messrs Coates, O'Neill, Sare, Sedd.m. Edgecumbe, Reed, Tippin, von Stunner, Dver, Teas, McNicol, and Wrigley. Mr I. Coates, Mayor of Hamilton, occupied the chair.

Mr Batger explained the objects of tha Association in a]must the -ame terms as reported elsewhere, urging the necessity for the formation of such organisations for the purpo.se of influencing the uolitics of the ooiinti'y. The whole of the organisations should keep in touch, and meeting* of delegates could be held whan necessiry. Great attention should he paid to tho rolls, so that many sections of tho community, which have no influenco now, would come to the front and enable thn country to be governed on sound principles of right and justice.

Messrs McDonald and Bell also spoke m to the necessity of carrying out tho objects of tlie Association.

Mr S. T. Setklon, in a speech supporting the objects of the Association, moved " That this meeting affirms the desirableness nf forming in Hamilton a br.incli of the National Association of New Zealand, to be called the Hamilton Branch."

Seconded by Mr Teas and carried uuani mously.

The following gentlemen were elected aa a committee to carry out the objects of the Association :—Messrs Coates, von .Stunner, Edgecumbe, Dyer, McNicol, Reid, Tippen, Gwyrfhe, Seddon, Sare, and O'Neill. Mr Erlgecumbe proposed a vota of thanks to the delegates for their visit. Seconded by Mr Dyer and carried. • The vote was acknowledged by Mr Batger, and a vot-) of tnanks to the chair closed the proceeding*.
