. The Waikato Times Office, Wednesday. MARKET REPORTS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Afencv Company report uiuler dati :— Dunkwin December 3.—W00l ; Lute t eli'cr.mis from London report that tho Bales tlmri! continue active at opening rates which fur best wool compart) favourably with cluing rates of last series. The lower olivines of wool are at par to .VI lower, anil for rami red V) lower. The Cliri'-tchiirch sMes o;>one'd on the 2lith ult , when ii large portion of iha wool offered thnt day wa< h"1(], grea*y half-bred bringing K.fd to 10} d : do crws-bred, 8d to !)Jd ; di long-woi-l, 7d to 7AiJ :do merino, S.Jd to 7td ; do piece., lj'd t.' tijd ;(!•. locks, 2d t<: 3jd hit Hi,-Grain : Wheat: Notwithstanding the fluctuations in the maiket at Jloine, prions »e«in to be gradually rising. Iμ the local market also, an improved demand is purcuptible. Although the bnsinc.-is panning is not to any great extent, '.hero are More inquiries, resulting! in < l f° w --'ales bein h ' effected, and no doubt a larger business could be done if sellers would submit to lower prices ; but, considering the Mtniill quantity at present on hand, they prefpr holding in the meantime any rate, being under the impression that some advance on present quotations will eventually be feenred, late quotations are still adhered to —vix, for best milling Northern velvet and Tu.'.can, in lid to 5s ; medium to pond Southern, 4s 7d to h 10d ; inferior to medium, 3s 9d to 4s 4d (ex store, sacks weighed in terms).—Oats : These continue to have a fair demand, and no difficulty is experienced in placing all available for Palo at prices about equal to those quoted by us last week. We quote good to prime feed and milling at Iβ 7<i to Is 7sd a shade more, might bo obtained for extra stout bright lot"); medium to good, Is to Is 7d ; inferior to medium, Ik 4d to Is' (id (ex store, sneks extra, not cash ;','d more f.o.u. — Dairy Produce : A considerable portion of the butter made during the next throe months by the factories has been placed, chiefly for export, at prices ranging from ild In 10d ; while dairy-made i* difh'cnlt to place at 6d to (ijd per Ib. There is but little inquiry for cheese, buyers being hardly prepared to meet sellers. Christchiirch. December 4. — Wool: During the past week we had further uuweleomenews of the London wool market, the decline all round being confirmed. Since then, however, a more cheering cablo reaches us to the effect th:it competition is Btrong, and that a feeling of confidence provails. Cross-breda are quoted as very firm, awl merinos slightly better than the opening rates of the series. Values, however, will have to advance considerably in London before they can touch the equivalent of the prices ruling locally at tha recent sales in ChrUtchurch. Wool may be considered low, but a net return of £8, £10. nnd np to £12 per bale for ordinary farmers' lots should be fairly satifactory to the growers ; nnd these are the actual figures revealed by tho rendering of our account ■ales with proceeds.—Wheat: There is no improvement in prices in the market of the •It) world. Stocks locally are limited, and holders are firm. In Victoria a good harvest is anticipated ; but private advices inform us that South Australian does not expect an average yield of more than four to livo bushels per acre. We quote parcels •f prune milling Is ild to 5s f.0.b., sacks extra. —Oats : Largo shipments are being made to London, which reduces stocks here •nd tends t<■ harden prices. Local demand is dull, and littln doing. We quote folows :—Prime milling Is lid to 2s, heavy foed Is 10d, Innsrleߣd per bushel f.0.b., neks extra. —Dairy Prodiic : Butter in kegafid to per lb, cheese 4Jd to 5d per lb.
