INQUEST AT THE WAIKATO HOSPITAL.

On Saturday morning tin inquest was held on the body of the lata W. McPherson, who died at the Walkato District Hospital, on Thursday, from injuries received at Taupiri as previously reported. Mr F. J. von Stunner, J.P. acted as cr.roner, Mr Searancke being indisposed. The following jury was emp.innelled:—Messrs T. G. Sandes, foreman, H. Howden, J. S. Edgecumbe, S. Davis, J. Hinton aud John Webb. After hearing the evidence of Mr I<\ W. Littlewood, the contractor, for whom deceaeed was working at the time of the accident, and of Dr. Kennv, the following verdict was returned:—"That the deceased, W. McPherson, caine by his death through being crushed by a falling tree whilst working on a bush contract, at Mangawara, on the 2nd December, ISOL, and that it was a purely accidental occurrence.''
