DISTRICT OF WAIKATO HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

The annual meeting of the above Board was hold in the Hamilton Borough Council Chambers, ye-terday, when there were present: Messrs Primrose (chairman) Swlion, Ling, Teasriiile, McGnirk, and Anderson. The minutes were read and before being confirmed, a motion was added as an appendix that the doctor ind staff lie thanked for the efficient manner in which they had carried out their duties during the past year, Rkpkkskntativks.—Mr Salmon representing the Hamilton Borough Council, and Mr J. S. Bond the Cambridge Borough Council then took their seats, and the ordinary meeting was continued. The following are the representatives:—Waikat'i County Council, Messrs Coates, Davis, Primrose and SocMnn, Raglan County Council, Mr Mcliuirk, Pinko County Council, Messrs Browne, Heaney, Chepmell and H'irivll, Cambridge Borough Council, Mr Bond, and Hamilton Borough Council, Mr R. M. Salmon, Waipa County Council, Messrs Lang, Teindaie an'l Anderson.

Mr Primrose returnoJ thanks for the honour paid him and assured the Board he would do his utmost for them. He said he wii? pleased to see so many of the old Board back again as it showed that the public had confidence in them far the way in which the institution had been managed. Messrs Primrose, Seridon and Coates were elected the House Committee, and Messrs Primrose, Seddon, Ooates, Lang, and Chepmell She Finance Committee.

Brun.— The Secretary of tho Auckland Hospital Hoard wrote, saying that Thus. Bir.i, of Tiiupiri, had be"ii admitted into the Auckland Hospital as an urgent case, and that :> claim would be made in duo course.—lt w;is resolved to reply that this Board would not recognise the claim as Bird hud no authority to go the Hospital. Caldku.—A communication was received from Mr E. Y. Cox, of Shaftesbury, re a man named Calder who was lyinft siclc there. The man is now in the Hospital having been brought in yesterday. Examination of Ncusks.—A letter was received from Dr. Robertson, as secretary to_a meeting of surgeons in Auckland, re the nurses' examinations. The meeting agreed with the recommendations of the Board, and sngs;esto>d that they should communicate with the other Hospital Boards in the Auckland district to appoint a doctor to examine in Auckland. —The Waikato Board recommended. Dr. MacKellar for the appointment.

Sbckbtahy's Repout.—The Secretary's report showed there wen 24 persons receiving charitable aid, and 1.2 in the Refuge. Tho credit balance at the Bank is flb'W tfs3d; Hospital fees recPiv.ible about £40, and endowment rent, £20, making a.total of £1701 Ga 3d, less accounts to be paid, £182 Us • leaving a credit balance of £15111 0s 3d.

Tkxdkrs.—The folluwing tenders wera received for the lease of Hospital Endowmerit Lot 5!) Hamilton West: Biggs, L' 2 pi"r annum ; Hill, £2 ; H Urick, £2 (is ; Klliott, £2 10s, and Murray £2 15s.—The action of tha .Finance Committee was endorsed in accepting Mr Murray's tender. Firzi'ATlUCK.— A letter was received from Mr R. B. Fitzpatrick, but it was not considered.

PowKit.—Enquiries ara to be made if Thos. Power, an inmate of the Refuge, has any land.
