» Social.- Ou Monday night last a most enjoyable social and dance took place in the Town Hall, The attendance was not as largo as was anticipated, about twenty 'Mimics oiily beir.t' present, yet tha g.ithering passed nil' very suecessfnlly indued. The- ladies kindly provided an ample supply of refreshments, which were justly appreciated and partaken of by all. Misses K. t'arrell and Jciwlhcr (piano) kindly supplied the music, and dancing was kept up with spirit until o a.m., when " Home Sweet Homo'' brought to a close a vory pleasant evening's amusemont.
Si't>iii'.' ; .—The program me of thuse .sports has now been well distributed throughout the district, and everything promises well in favour of a litst-class day's sport. It has beun proposed to secure tho services of tho Hamilton Urass Baud, which, if carried out, will add greatly to tho success of the meeting. JwAMi CofitT.—The Native Land Court, rocontly adjourned to Tokaana, will reopen here to-day (Thursday), but it is not ONpautetl that the sitting will be a very lengthy ono.
