CATTLE SHIFTINGS.
Tub last week has been a busy one iu the cattle markets. At It-itigiriri ou Wednesday last thoiu was a full mav!;ut, ami bidding was spirited right through, and the priios obtained were the best, of the season. At llamiier's clearing sale nearly UUO steers passed under the hammer in thirty-five minutes, These cattle wore in rather low condition, and price* were easier. At Waitoa a moderato market was met, and higher liricc; than ruled ou the previous day at llatuuur's wot'u obtained. UH> came to Ohaupo for distribution ; -liO also came to Ohaupo from Kangiriri for distribution. At Tiies'iay's Ohaupo .iile there was a full market, and nricus for stores were fully maintained. .Several large outside buyers havo been in the market. Our from Taranaki leaves in a day or two for his destination with some ")00 he.aJ picked up in W'aikato. During his stay hd has made things a bit lively for local buyers.
