TUHIKARAMEA.

Farm Toi'ics.—Seldom hue we had a spring better suited to the craziers requirement. If he had—9o to speak—ordered it himself, he couldn't have done better. Grass is plentiful throughout the district, and stuck are showing the good effects of it. Shearing is about to commence and fair clips are expected. Half-breds are the favourite sheep mi the Waipa, fur while hardior than Lincoln*, they givu a good fleece, and rear a large percentage of tinn lambs. In spite of adverse circumstances hitherto, in the way of low prices, etc., a c insiduruble area of grain has bean sown this year, Messrs Viekors, Reid, and others having tine fields of wheat and oats. Tim latter gentleman has also a nine-acre paddock in potatoes, which should give a good crop, and let us hope, will sell at better prices than have ruled of late. A large quantity of these roots are still on hand snout the Waipa, and for which there seems to ho no available outlet. Thb School.—Matters in connection with the school are more satisfactory th;-n for some years past. An attendance ot about 20 is something new for our little school. Miss Walters—the teacher in charge—is pulling the school tog t'ler, several of the children coming in long disstanees to attend. I am sorry to say that your recent local, in reference to the la grippe being in W.iikato, was not news to n->. It has been extremely busy over hern for some tinm past, several families being laid up with it, but they are, I am glad to say, fast recovering nsrain.
