lIUNTLY V. TAUPIKI. The Huntly Cricket Club met the Tanpiii team at Tnupiri on Monday, November &th, and i\ most enjoyable game was indulged in. llnntly won the toss and went to the wickets, but were soon disposed of for 27 runs. Taupiri replied with 58, of which K B. Cox (23) and F. Littlewood (8) wiiio the chief contributors. In their second attempt Hiintly had six wiokots down for 80, when rain brought the game to an end about five o'clock, loaving it a victory for Taupiri by 31 runs on the first innings. Humo {IS) and l< , . Still (7) batted well in Huntly's second innings. There being a good attendance of plnyers, the teams vera eomposod of thirteen on each side. The ladies) of Taupiri provided afternoon toa on the ground, and by their presence added much to the enjoyment of the day. Another match between the above teams oarno off in Whatawhata on Saturday last. The weather, though threatening, and in the early part of the day showery, was cool and pleasant, but the wicket, owing to the previous rain, win very heavy. Nine uf the visitors rolled up, playing against ten of the locale. The game was a very good one, but, alas ! again resulted in a win for Tubikaramea, the " veteran" aud his boys playing well together, and showed the benefit of regular practice. Tuhikaramea won by 54 runs. The batting of J. Lane was much admired.
Owinj? to the Putorangi Cricket Club not being able t<. play on Saturday, their match with Hamilton has been postponed, and the return match _ between the married and single teams will be played instead.
