CIIRiSTCHURCH LIVE STOCK MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company report under date, CUKISTOUURUH. October 23. — Store Rhoep.—Magnificent growing weather continues, and fairly full entries of this class are brought in for disposal, many holders preferring to take a good price while it is going—wool included —to making the proverbial two bites at a cherry by selling wool and sheep separately. A discreet caution is, however, noticeable among buyers in thesame direction ; consequently bargains are somewhat difficult to effect. Yosturday , *. entry of about 3200 sheep wad cmnposed of crossbred and merino ewes, with lambs at foot in the majority, with two or three useful lines of four-tooth mixed cnxs-breds, a pen or two of merino wet.lu'rs, and a ftiw cros-.bred hoggets (poor sorts). The attendance was good, and intituled plenty of buyers, but for reasons mentioned above, tho sain was flat and prices were soirmwhat easier thap last week's. .Several lines of ewes and lambs were withdrawn in cmscquunci , . Sales wore made as follow :—Cross-bred ewes and lambs 15s to 18s Gd, merino do to 12s, four-tooth crossbroils lls Gd to 1(h, cross-bred hoggets (small) 10s.— Pat shuep : Tim supply was a inodoruti) one, and merino wethars again showed up in preponderance. The crossbrads, with one or two exceptions, lacked quality. Shorn Hhnep show a weekly increase, and sell rather butter, in proportion, than those in tho wool, we think. The absence of buyers for export, coupled with the fact that skins are not bringing tho values tlipy wore by a considerable amount, had a vory deadening effect on the sale, and made lh>! saUHiii'Mi's anything bat a pleasant task. Merinos, b'ing so plentiful, participate to a greater nv'---ut io tho fall than crossbred.*. —Fα».
