WAIKATO FARMERS' CLUB (HAMILTON BRANCH.)
A special meeting of the above Club was held in the Waikato Times Buildiups last Monday evening, when there were present : Messrs Primrose (chairman), Barugh, Edgecumbe, Sutton, Dyer, Sandes and Shepherd.
New Members.—Two new members were elected, vir.., Messrs W, A, P. Sutton and Frank Hubbard.
Provincial Show.—Mr Edgecumbe said the business of the meeting had originated through Mr A. Swarbrick, who unfortunately was unable to bo present through illness. It had occurred to Mr Swarbrick that the Provincial Show which was about to be held in Auckland might be made a moveable one and be held in Pukekohe and Waikato every three years, and he suggested that the membere of tho Waikato Farmers' Club should use evory endeavour to further the object.—All the members present spoke favourably of the proposition, and it was resolved to instruct tho secretary to write to the Cambridge branch, asking them to co-operate with them to further that object.—lt was then decided that the subject should be brought forward at the next meeting for discussion, and that the special attention of members bo directed to this important matter in order to get a largo attendance and to obtain a fuller expression of opinion. Cattle Trucks.—Mr Sutton drow attention to the necessity there oxisted for a night sorrico for tho transport of cattle and shoep from Waikato, and that down South a much more satisfactory state of affairs existed. Ho also pointed out the defects in tho largo cattle truck now in use upon the Waikato line. It was resolved to bring the subject up for consideration at the next regular meeting.
