The Synod accepted the the proposal with enthusiasm. Bishop Neville in opening the Anglican Synod delivered a lengthy address deal ing with the education question, lie said viewing all the circumstances of the case he could hardly think the church would be acting wisely or rightly if it makes a general demand for a return to denomiuationalism. It should make a louder and tinner demand than ever for liberty to teach religion within school hours, and he believed that if it was seen that the Church generously recognised the excellence of much that bad been provided, and had no desire for what might appear selfish isolation and would only as a very last resource increase the cost to the community by setting up schools of their own there would be no great difficulty in obtaining the facilities required to enable them.
