SAD DROWNING ACCIDENT.

On Sundiy inorninc, about 10 o'clock,

Robort Henry Newell, aged 33 years was d-owned whilo bathing in the Waipa River, at Xgaruawahia, near the punt landing. The body was recovered in less than ten minutes, but all attempts at icsiiscit.ition were of no avail. As deceased was a powerful swimmer it is thought that ho must have been seized with some kind of lit, while in the water. Ho was the only son of tho late Mr Hamilton Newell, ot Xgaruuawahia, and loaves a wife and a young family of three children. An inquest was held yesterday morning, before Mr \V. N. Searancke, coroner, when a verdict of accidental death '' was returned. The funeral will take place at three o'clock, this afternoon.
